Briarpatch

Briarpatch is the definition of a perfect Living Not Loathing brunch spot. The food was excellent, the decor was superb, the ambiance was refreshing, and did I mention how amazing the food was?? I found this place while shopping on Park Avenue in Winter Park and I have no idea why it took me so long to stop by.

During my visit to Briarpatch I got the avocado toast w/ eggs and a side salad came with it. I know what you’re thinking: “Yuck, another millennial who likes avocados on everything” Wellllll I can’t always get French Toast or Egg Benedict at brunch every week like you. I’m actually fun & need variety. But on a serious note, this variation of avocado toast was the absolute best one I’ve had so far and after the first bite, my mood instantly elevated.

The staff was courteous and super accommodating during my visit, which is absolutely worth mentioning because this can’t be said about every establishment. It was a little chilly inside (not sure if it’s always this way) but I enjoyed sitting outside a little better. The weather was nice and the scenery in this area is excellent which is even more reason to grab outside seating if available.

Briarpatch is somewhere you MUST experience for yourself. It will definitely leave an impression on you and you’ll definitely want to go back for more (I had to stop myself from going two days in a row). And if brunch is your thing, add Briarpatch to your list. Bring your friends here and they'll love you forever.

Price: Pricey for the average budget, not even gonna beat around the bush with this one. The price of some of the dishes are not for those on a tight budget, but it’s appropriate if you don’t mind spending a little extra for a quality dish. But based on my experience Briarpatch is worth the money so $pend dat cash on a meal here plz. Don’t go if you’re trying to be cheap or you’ll rob yourself of a great experience and you'll leave frustrated.

Decor: Very satisfying. The chairs outside were uniquely shaped (as you’ll see in the pictures above) and the setup of the inside is aesthetically pleasing. I liked just about everything about this place which isn't something I say often.

Occasion: This is good for Brunch or a late lunch. Plus they close at 5pm so it's not like you have much of a choice. Great for a simple lunch/breakfast meeting or meal and good for catching up with friends.

Dress Code: Clean and casual. From what I observed here, everyone was pretty chill . I also went during the week so the attire for most people would be a little different than a weekend brunch outing. Personally I would wear a nice but simple outfit here during the week. Nice shirt with slacks/jeans, dress, nice shoes, etc.
